IMMACULATA, Pa. – Meagan Fitzgerald threw a complete-game, 4-0, shutout in the opener, and
Nicole Curcione also tossed a complete-game for a 5-1 win in the nightcap as host Immaculata University swept a CSAC softball doubleheader from Notre Dame (Md.) Friday afternoon.
Immaculata (5-5, 2-0 CSAC) scored four runs on seven hits without committing an error in the first game and plated five runs on seven hits while committing just one error in the nightcap. Notre Dame (0-4, 0-2) is still in search of its first win of the spring.
The Mighty Macs scored one run in the second, two more in the fourth, and added a final tally in the fifth while riding Fitzgerald's arm to the win in game one.

Allison Zborowski hit an RBI single, and Immaculata benefitted from a Notre Dame error to score twice in the fourth.
Christiana Donofry hit her first career home run in the fifth to close out the scoring.
Fitzgerald (4-2) threw all seven innings, scattering three hits, walking two and striking out nine, without allowing a run.
In the nightcap, Immaculata scored single tallies in the first and third, added a pair of runs in the fourth and tacked on one more in the fifth en route to the win. Notre Dame scored its only run of the doubleheader in the top of the fourth.
Curcione (1-3) registered her first win of the season, yielding six hits and one earned run in seven innings of work. She walked one and struck out four.
Melissa Ejk singled up the middle scoring
Holly Schell in the bottom of the first. Schell had walked and stole second. Schell manufactured the Mighty Macs' second run when she led off the third with a single and stole second once again. Donofry sacrificed her over to third, and Schell eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Patsy Murphy hit a bases-loaded single in the fourth, and Schell walked with the bags full, as Immaculata answered Notre Dame's run in the top half of the fourth with two of its own to push back out in front, 4-1.
Danielle Palmisano scored on a wild pitch in the fifth for the final run of the day.
Immaculata travels to Cedar Crest Saturday for a CSAC doubleheader at 1 p.m.
