Women's Soccer Topped By Elizabethtown

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University's women's soccer team was defeated in its home opener Saturday afternoon by Elizabethtown College in a non-conference contest. The visiting Blue Jays went on to win by the score 9-0.
 
Elizabethtown wasn't able to find the back of the net until the 22nd minute for a 1-0 lead. The Blue Jays would score three more times before intermission for a 4-0 lead at halftime. Elizabethtown added five second-half goals for the final score. The Blue Jays' Deanna Slater recorded a hat trick during the second period.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Meghan McCurnin played all 90 minutes in the loss. She recorded 16 saves. Elizabethtown split time between its goalkeepers, Jess Manchak and Dana Robidoux.
 
Immaculata plays at Washington College (Md.) on Wednesday night, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.
