IMMACULATA, Pa. - Immaculata University dropped both ends of a Colonial States Athletic Conference softball doubleheader against Neumann University, 8-7 and 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.
In the opener, Neumann homored in the third to start the scoring for the Knights to gain the lead. Immaculata scored two runs in the bottom of the third on

The Mighty Macs held the 2-1 lead until Neumann added two in the fourth, three in the fifth, and two more in the sixth. Immaculata rallied in the seventh with five runs as
Julia Lamplugh led off with a homerun followed by Disney's three-run homerun but the Mighty Macs fell in the final inning.
Danielle Palmisano went 5.1 innings in the circle and took the loss. She allowed seven earned runs on 12 hits and struck out two. Nikki Curcione came in and pitched the final 1.2 innings for Immaculata. Curcione allowed two hits and struck out three.
Dana Disney finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a team high five RBIs.
In the nightcap, the Knights jumped on top of the Mighty Macs with two runs in the fourth inning, and the hosts answered with a homerun from Nikki Curcione in the bottom of the frame.
Neumann added two more runs in the fifth before tacking on its final tally in the seventh.
The Mighty Macs added two runs in its final at bat from
Jessica DeCastro and
Christiana Donofry.
Meagan Fitzgerald pitched all seven innings in the loss giving up 13 hits and struck out four.
Immaculata hosts Widener for a non-league doubleheader on Monday at 3 p.m.
