RADNOR, Pa.- Immaculata University's softball team earned a split with Cabrini on Friday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Mighty Macs stole game one 4-2, but the Cavaliers were able rally to win the second game, 4-3.
In game one, Cabrini took an early lead with a single in the first inning. Maleaha Himmon's two-RBI double scored
Dana Disney and
Holly Schell to push Immaculata ahead in the third.
Immaculata extended the lead with two more in the fourth when
Holly Schell's single scored
Jessica DeCastro. Schell would steal third and score on a Cabrini error to seal the win for the Mighty Macs, 4-2.
Meagan Fitzgerald (2-3) went the distance in the circle surrendering seven hits and striking out five.
In game two, the Cavaliers took a 2-0 lead in the third inning but the Mighty Macs got two back in the fourth on
Danielle Palmisano's two- run homerun.
Cabrini answered in the sixth with two more in the sixth to regain the lead, 4-2.
Dana Disney's single in the sixth was not enough to top Cabrini for the win.
Danielle Palmisano (0-4) pitched a complete game in the loss. She allowed four runs on seven hits. She walked three and struck out one.
