Immaculata trailed by 11 with nine minutes left before outscoring the Cavaliers 28-11 to close out the game and come away with the big conference win. After taking the late lead, the Mighty Macs put the game away with some big free throw shooting.
Senior

Brandon Smith was the final double-digit scorer for the Mighty Macs with 15, including the go-ahead jumper late in the game that put Immaculata up for good.
The Mighty Macs got off to a great start in the tough road contest by grabbing a 9-3 lead through the first four and a half minutes. Smith hit two early buckets followed by a three and jumper by freshman
Tyreek Peeples (6 points), coming off the best game of his college career in the team's win over Rosemont on Monday.
Torres hit a jumper to extend the Mighty Mac lead to 13-5 at the 14 minute mark of the first half. However, the Cavaliers ripped off a 14-3 run in the next five minutes to jump in front by a score of 19-16 after two Jeremy Knowles three pointers. The only Mighty Mac basket in the run came on a three from Jones.
The Mighty Macs would take the 23-22 lead again with 4:47 to go in the first half on Jones' second three, but a three from Cabrini put the Cavaliers back in front. Torres hit a layup as time expired at the end of the half as Cabrini led 29-28 at the break. Torres led the Mighty Macs with nine points followed by Jones with eight.
Smith again started the half strong, like he did in the first, with the first four Mighty Mac points, but Cabrini held a 37-32 lead three minutes in. Immaculata continued to fight however as first half leading scorers Torres and Jones each tallied buckets to slash the Cabrini advantage to one at 38-37 with 15 minutes remaining in the game.
That's when Cabrini took off on a 12-2 run over the next five minutes on the strength of Aaron Goodman (12 points) and Knowles (12 points) to take a 49-38 lead. Junior
Jerod Cain (6 points) put an end to the run finally with a traditional three-point play to stem the Cavalier momentum and spark a late Immaculata charge.
After the Cain three-point play, Immaculata continued to claw back as Torres scored six points in the next four minutes to cut the lead to four at 55-51 with 4:20 to go. Torres then knocked down another jumper to make it a two point game which is where it would stay until three straight points from Smith gave the Mighty Macs a 57-56 lead with two minutes remaining.
Following a missed Goodman three-pointer, Jones came down the floor and knocked down his team-leading third triple of the game to get the Immaculata lead up to four with 1:20 to go.
From there, Immaculata knocked down six of eight free throws, two from Cain, three from Torres, and one from Jones to close out the big Immaculata victory.
