IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University volleyball swept its Colonial States Athletic Conference match opposite Notre Dame of Maryland University, 3-0, Tuesday night inside Alumnae Hall. The Mighty Macs won convincingly by scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-12.
Immaculata improves to 6-16 overall and 2-4 in the CSAC with the win. Notre Dame falls to 6-10, 2-3 CSAC.
Jamie Rombach led Immaculata with eight kills and three blocks.
Alexandra Okoro amassed seven kills, while
Allison Lang and
Andrea Okoro each chipped in six kills.
Andrea Okoro led the front row players with four blocks.
Brittany Thompson set up 19 of Immaculata's 32 kills, and she also had a match-high seven service aces.
Brooke Schreffler posted eight digs to lead the squad and had five aces.
As a team, Immaculata posted a .369 hitting percentage with 32 kills on 65 attacks and committed just eight errors. Immaculata also had 15 service aces.
Tied at 10-10 during the first set,
Andrea Okoro had a kill to give Immaculata the 11-10 edge. Thompson would then serve the next seven points for the Mighty Macs, including four aces during the run, staking the hosts in front 18-10.
Immaculata held just a 9-7 lead in the second set when the Mighty Macs went on an 11-2 run to push the advantage to 20-9.
Alexandra Okoro posted two kills and one block while
Andrea Okoro had three kills during the 11-point stretch.
In the final set, immaculata got up by a four-point margin, 8-4, and never looked back. During their final 18 points to win the match, Immaculata recorded nine kills, two blocks and two service aces.
Immaculata travels to Neumann for another CSAC match on Thursday at 7 p.m.
