Keystone Rallies for 83-79 Win Opposite Immaculata Men

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University's men's basketball team dropped a heart-breaking 83-79 decision to visiting Keystone College on Wednesday night inside Alumnae Hall in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
 
Immaculata falls to 5-12 overall and 3-7 in the conference while Keystone improved to 12-2, 7-1 in the CSAC.
 
Nelson Torres led the Mighty Macs with 19 points, four assists and four rebounds. Brandon Smith added 14 points, as he went 7-for-8 from the field, and had four boards. Rob Siter chipped in 13 points, three assists and four rebounds while Kendall Peters had 11 points.
 
After Immaculata scored the opening basketball, Keystone led throughout much of the first half. The Giants pushed their lead to as large as nine on three occasions, the last time at the 10:36 mark (33-24). Immaculata then used a 16-5 run over six minutes, capped by a Siter layup, to retake the lead, 40-38, with four minutes left in the half.
 
The Mighty Macs continued their run to end the stanza, and eventually took a 49-42 edge into the locker room.
 
Immaculata continued the streak into the second half, pushing its lead to as much as 17 (74-57) with 8:39 remaining in the contest. Keystone then went on a run of its own, 19-2, to tie the contest at 76-all with 3:33 remaining. The score remained tied with one minute left in regulation (78-78) when Malcolm Boone hit two free throws for the Giants, and Keystone held on for the 83-79 comeback win.
 
Boone led all scorers with 21 points and 11 rebounds for Keystone.
 
Immaculata heads to Marywood on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip with the Pacers.
