Immaculata Men Unable To Upend Neumann, 69-62

ASTON, Pa.
– The Immaculata University men's basketball team fell to Neumann University on Wednesday night, 69-62, in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.
 
Immaculata slips to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in the conference while Neumann improved to 7-8 overall, 4-4 in the league.
 
Rob Siter paced the Mighty Macs with 26 points and seven rebounds. Nelson Torres finished with 12 points, and T.J. Klinger had 10 points and five rebounds.
 
Neumann led throughout most of the first half, including its largest edge of 10 points (22-12) at the mid-way point of the stanza. Immaculata claimed a 30-29 lead after going on an 18-7 run with 4:10 remaining in the opening half. The squads traded baskets before the host Knights headed into halftime with a three-point lead, 37-34, after Rich Whitten hit a three-pointer 35 seconds before the break.
 
Immaculata cut its deficit to one as the second half opened, but Neumann quickly built an eight-point lead on a 7-0 spurt by the 15:41 mark. Siter scored 11 consecutive points for the Mighty Macs as they trimmed the Knights' lead back to three (50-47) at the 10:09 mark. The three-point margin proved to be the closest Immaculata came within Neumann the rest of the game.
 
Mark Blount led Neumann with 20 points and eight rebounds. Terrance Clark was the other Knight in double figures with 10 points.
 
Immaculata returns to action on Monday, Jan. 16 hosting Gwynedd-Mercy at 8 p.m.
