IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the young season on Saturday afternoon, 6-3, as it hosted Cedar Crest College in the home opener.

Immaculata (1-1, 1-1 CSAC) started the match winning two of the three doubles matches. The Mighty Macs made quick work of the Falcons (0-1, 0-1 CSAC) at the second and third doubles positions, claiming wins at both spots. Julie Einwechter and Molly Greco dispatched Kenzie Bickhart and Rakia Otoo, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles while Olivia Kaufmann and Pattie McGinley downed Maria Vincent and Francheska Aquino, 8-1, at No. 3 doubles.

Greco and McGinley were the first two singles matches to conclude as both claimed points for Immaculata. Greco was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at fourth singles against Otoo, and McGinley defeated Aquino at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Kauffman clinched the match for the Mighty Macs with her win at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-4 against Vincent. Theresa Martini added Immaculata's sixth point in the win as she battled Cassandra Bejar as second singles. After winning the opening set, 6-2, Martini had to fight her way back in the second to claim the straight-set victory, 7-5.

Immaculata plays its first non-conference match this season on Wednesday as it travels to Albright at 3:30 p.m.
