Women's Tennis Falls Against Rosemont, 6-3

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University's women's tennis team had a 6-3 setback against Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Rosemont College on Saturday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs (1-6, 1-4 CSAC) captured points at third doubles and No. 2 and No. 6 singles. Rosemont improves its record to 2-4, 2-3 in the conference.

Paige Sparks and Pattie McGinley teamed for an 8-0 win at third doubles against Rosemont's Barbara Lally and Latifah Edwards. The Mighty Macs dropped the other two doubles spots by 8-4 margins.

Theresa Martini picked up her third singles victory this season with her 6-2, 6-3 defeat of Karis Coad at second singles. McGinley also won her singles match at No. 6 against Kristy Evans, 6-0, 6-0, for her second win of the afternoon.

Olivia Kauffman played a highly contest match at No. 5 singles against Lally. The first set went to a tie-breaker that Rosemont's Lally won, and Lally took the match, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.

Immaculata will play a non-conference match at Penn State Berks on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
