Softball Takes Both Ends From Keystone

.- Immaculata University softball team snapped Keystone's four game winning streak in a CSAC doubleheader, 3-1 and 9-3.

The Mighty Macs improved to a 9-7 overall record and 6-2 in CSAC play while the Giants fall to 10-10 overall and 6-6 in the conference.

Immaculata got on the scoreboard early, scoring a run in the first when Danielle Palmisano doubled to left field scoring shortstop Holly Schell. The Mighty Macs scored two more runs in the fifth to seal the win. Keystone scored its lone run of the game in the sixth on a sacrifice fly.

Palmisano went 3-for-4 at the plate for Immaculata and Schell went 2-for-4 scoring one run. Julia Lamplugh and Mindy Monastra added one hit in the victory.

Meagan Fitzgerald (3-3) went the distance in the circle, allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out six.

In the night cap, Keystone carried the 3-2 lead after five innings but Immaculata cut the deficit scoring three runs in the sixth and added four more in the seventh.

Lamplugh led the Mighty Macs at the plate going 3-for-4 , scoring one run. Mindy Monastra and Allison Zborowski both went 2-for-4, while Zborowski added two runs and two RBI.

Danielle Palmisano (5-3) started the game and went 5.0 innings giving up three runs on seven hits. Nikki Curcione came in relief and pitched the final two innings. She only gave up one hit and struck out one batter.

Immaculata returns home on Monday and hosts Rosemont for a 3 p.m. doubleheader
