Mighty Macs Split CSAC Softball Doubleheader with Centenary

IMMACULATA, Pa.-
Immaculata University's softball team earned a split with Centenary College on Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Mighty Macs stole game one 6-2, but the Cyclones were able rally to win the second game, 11-7.

Centenary scored first with one run in the second until Immaculata scored two runs in the third and tacked on four in the fourth to seal the win. The Cyclones ended the game with a run scored in the seventh when Caitlin Veverka homered.

Holly Schell went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI in the victory. Danielle Palmisano also tallied two hits and two RBI for the Mighty Macs. Dana Bozetto, Sara Holleran, and McKenzie Brown each had one hit a piece. 

Megan Fitzgerald pitched a complete game for the win. She allowed just two runs on five hits.
In game two, Centenary came out strong scoring eight runs in the first inning and tacked on another two in the second to keep the game out of reach.

 Immaculata gradually answered back scoring three runs in the third and four runs in the fifth but did not come any closer to top the Cyclones. 

 Schell led Immaculata at the plate scoring three runs on three hits. Danielle Palmisano tallied two hits and two RBI while Allison Zbrowski led the team with three RBI in the losing effort. 

Immaculata returns to action on Friday, April 1 hosting College of Notre Dame for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
