IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata's softball team split its non-conference doubleheader against Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday afternoon. The Mighty Macs won the opener, 6-4, and fell in the nightcap, 13-0.
Mindy Monastra went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored to lead the Mighty Macs.
Julia Lamplugh also had two hits while Dana Bozetto tallied two runs in the victory.
Neither team had scored until the third when Immaculata (3-5) scored two runs to take the lead. Franklin and Marshall got on the scoreboard in the sixth inning scoring four runs to jump ahead of the Mighty Macs. Immaculata answered scoring four runs in the sixth to take the lead for good.
Megan Fitzgerald started in the circle for Immaculata pitching all seven innings. She allowed eight hits and struck out five.
The Diplomats (11-5) struck early in game two scoring three runs in the first inning and took control for the rest of the game tallying a total of 16 hits.

Danielle Palmisano (1-2) took the loss, allowing 15 hits and 11 earned runs in 5.1 innings of work. She also struck out four.
The Mighty Macs return to action on Saturday hosting Centenary for its first conference doubleheader of the season. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
