LA PLUME, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's basketball squad dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest Monday night to Keystone College, 70-61, at Spalding Arena.
Immaculata, which falls to 9-15 overall and 7-10 in the CSAC, was led by
Rob Siter's double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Brandon Smith added 12 points and
Darnell Malabet finished with 10 points.
Keystone led in the first half by as many as nine, 23-14, with 8:43 to play, when Immaculata scored 10 straight points to flip the lead into a one-point Mighty Macs advantage, 24-23, with 4:17 left.
Keystone only had one field goal, a Tim Benedix three-pointer, during the last eight minutes of the first half as Immaculata was able to hold the lead at intermission.
Immaculata held a two-point halftime advantage, 31-29, largely due to its 10-for-11 effort from the free throw line during the first half.
Benedix sunk another three just 32 seconds into the second half to put the Giants back on top, and Keystone never gave back the lead. The Giants led by as many as 14 (67-53) before Smith and
T.J. Klinger each scored four points during the final 1:29 for the nine-point margin, 70-61.
Keystone finished with three players in double figures, led by Kenneth Hardnett who had 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Immaculata closes out regular-season play on Thursday night at Philadelphia Biblical University at 7 p.m.
