HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - Immaculata University's men's basketball team was defeated on the road Thursday night by Centenary College, 75-53, in Colonial States Athletic Conference play.
The Mighty Macs and Cyclones both sit at 9-13 overall and 7-8 in the conference, and are in a tie for sixth place in the CSAC standings, following tonight's contest.
Immaculata was led by
Nelson Torres' 12 points and
Rob Siter added 10 points and a team-leading seven rebounds.
Raheem Roher had eight points off the bench, while
Brandon Smith and
Darnell Malabet each added six points apiece. Malabet also finished with six rebounds and two assists.
The Mighty Macs trailed by seven at the break, 33-26, but the Cyclones used eight three's and a 14 of 18 effort from the foul line during the second half to pull away.
Centenary had three players reach double figures, led by Rob Urie's 20 points. Will Atkinson totaled 18 points all from behind the arc, going 6-for-12, and Corey Kearney added 13 points. As a team, Centenary was 13 of 27 from three-point range.
Immaculata will play in front of the home crowd at Alumnae Hall for the final time during the 2010-11 season on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. when it takes on Gwynedd-Mercy College. The Mighty Macs will celebrate Senior Day prior to the contest.
