ROSEMONT, Pa. - Immaculata University overcame a seven-point halftime deficit and held the hosts scoreless during the final three minutes to seal a 73-68 win against Rosemont College on Monday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action.
Immaculata improves to 6-9 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Rosemont is now 6-10, 4-6 CSAC.
Immaculata finished with four players in double figures, led by 19 points from
Nelson Torres.
Darnell Malabet chipped in 14 points and Robert Siter added 13.
Brandon Smith rounded out the group with 10 points.
Smith gave the Mighty Macs a 68-66 edge with four minutes to play, but the Ravens tied the score at 68-all just one minute later. Smith again handed Immaculata a two-point lead, 70-68, with 1:13 remaining, and Rosemont was not able to answer. Torres put the Mighty Macs ahead 72-68 with 16.9 seconds remaining, and Siter tacked on a free throw with 6.8 ticks left for the final margin.
Immaculata outscored Rosemont 39-27 during the second half to overcome its 41-34 halftime deficit to the Ravens.
Immaculata travels to Gwynedd-Mercy on Thursday night at 8 p.m.
