Immaculata Men Pick Up 71-62 Win Opposite PBU

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University men's basketball defeated Philadelphia Biblical University, 71-62, in Colonial States Athletic Conference play at Alumnae Hall on Saturday afternoon.

Immaculata placed four of its starters in double figures. Rob Siter led the Mighty Macs with 20 points to go along with six rebounds and four steals. Nelson Torres added 15 points and four assists. Kendall Peters chipped in 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Darnell Malabet was the final Mighty Mac in double digits with 13 points and eight rebounds. Brandon Smith led Immaculata in rebounding with nine grabs.

The see-saw first half saw the teams exchange leads four times with Immaculata pulling out to a 38-29 halftime advantage thanks to a 16-5 run during the final seven minutes of the first half.

The Mighty Macs would never trail in the second half, however Philadelphia Bible did narrow the gap to six points inside a minute remaining in regulation.

Immaculata improved to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in the conference with the win. The Crimson Eagles fall to 0-13 overall and 0-8 CSAC.

Philadelphia Biblical had  three players in double figures. Jeff Bishop led the way with 19 points and eight rebounds. Adam Derus registered 15 points, and Claude Chalk chipped in 10 points to go along with eight rebounds.

The Mighty Macs travel to Rosemont on Monday night, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m.
