Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- Immaculata University's women's tennis team dropped its home debut to Baptist Bible College on Tuesday afternoon, 9-0, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match.

The Mighty Macs (0-2, 0-2 CSAC) battled at all three doubles positions against the Defenders (2-1, 2-0 CSAC) but came out on the short end of each. The IU pair of Olivia Kauffman and Elizabeth Strauch put up the biggest fight in the third spot against Rebecca Wagner and Cassy Labaw, 8-4. Top Immaculata doubles team of Theresa Martini and Felicia Thomas won three games in their set, and second doubles team of Kelsey Piliero and Julie Einwechter took two games.

Einwechter and Baptist Bible's Sarah Salzmann played a highly contest singles match at the fourth position. Salzmann went on to eventually win the match, but Einwechter made things interesting as the freshman was looking to pick up her first collegiate win. After Salzmann claimed the first set, 6-4, Einwechter jumped ahead in the second set before Salzmann then tied it at 4-4, and then took a 5-4 edge. Einwechter was relentless in her effort and almost forced the set into a tiebreaker, but Slazmann held on for the 7-5 victory.

Immaculata's Kauffman made her debut as fifth singles, falling by scores of 6-3, 6-2, while Strauch fell 6-3, 6-1 in her match in the sixth spot. IU's top three singles positions all lost by scores of 6-0, 6-1.

Immaculata continues its homestand on Thursday, Sept. 9, hosting Albright at 4 p.m.
