READING, Pa. - The Immaculata University women's tennis squad was defeating 9-0 by Alvernia University on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs (1-4) top doubles team of Felicia Thomas and Theresa Martini were the only pair to win games off the Crusaders (2-0). Thomas and Martini was downed 8-2 by Jenny McKee and Kayla Morgan.

Martini, Julie Einwechter, Kelsey Piliero and Olivia Kauffman all avoided the sweep in singles. Martini and Einwechter each lost by scores of 6-0, 6-2, while Piliero went down 6-1, 6-0. Kauffman placed the toughest match of the afternoon as she tried to come back and take the second set, but eventually fell, 6-0, 7-4.

Immaculata will be back in action tomorrow as it returns to league play against Gwynedd-Mercy at 4 p.m. at the IU Tennis Courts.
