Women's Tennis Comes Up Short At Neumann

ASTON, Pa.
– The Immaculata University women's tennis team was defeated by Neumann University, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match.

The Mighty Macs' three points of the match came in the four through six singles positions. Kelsey Piliero defeated Khristine Acosta in straight 6-0 sets at fourth singles. Olivia Kauffman played a marathon match with Jennie Greenlee in the fifth spot. Kauffman lost the first set to Greenlee, but managed to win the second set in a tie-breaker and then was victorious in the third-set tie-breaker, 2-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-8). Elizabeth Strauch swept the eight-game pro-set against Mercedes Lopez (8-0) in the sixth spot.

Immaculata moves to 1-3, 0-3 in the CSAC while Neumann improves to 2-1, 2-1 in the league.

Immaculata will travel to Alvernia for a non-conference match on Monday afternoon beginning at 4 p.m.
