SCRANTON, Pa. – Fifth-seeded Immaculata University fell to fourth-seeded Marywood University in the opening round of the CSAC Softball Tournament on Wednesday afternoon, 6-1.
Immaculata closes the 2010 season with a 17-17 overall mark. Marywood (19-16) advances to the tournament championship on Friday, taking on top-seeded Neumann University.
Marywood's Kaitlyn Brennan allowed just one unearned run in the first inning as
Jackie Finkbohner scored for the Mighty Macs on an error. The Pacers responded with two runs in both the second and third innings to take a 4-1 lead. The Pacers added insurance runs in both the fourth and sixth innings to secure the 6-1 win.
Nikki Curcione (9-9) took the loss on the mound for the Mighty Macs, allowing five earned runs on eight hits. She struck out two and walked two. Finkbohner had one hit and scored Immaculata's run.

Brennan (8-7) pitched a complete game for the Pacers. She struck out two, walked four and allowed just four hits.
