ST. DAVID'S, Pa. - Immaculata University men's basketball fell 64-50 to Eastern University on Monday night in non-conference action.
Brandon Smith recorded a double-double for the Mighty Macs with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 11 rebounds. Robert Siter also chipped in 11 points.
Eric Barefield finished with seven points and
Todd Stokley had six.
Siter's layup with 11:36 remaining in the opening half gave Immaculata its only lead of the contest (11-10). Eastern followed with a 10-0 run over five minutes to quickly jump ahead, 20-11, and the Eagles led 26-17 at the break.
Despite 33 points during the second half by the Mighty Macs, the Eagles continued to control the contest with 38 second-half points of their own.
Eastern (7-1) was paced by Alex Nelson's 16 points and eight rebounds. Dan Miller had 14 points and eight rebounds, and Collin Whipple added 10 points.
Immaculata (2-5) will have a week to ready for its trip to Phoenix, Ariz., for the Cactus Jam. The Mighty Macs play Whitman on Monday, Dec. 27 at 10 p.m. Eastern.
