Women's Tennis Unable to Overcome PBU

LANGHORNE, Pa.
– Immaculata University dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference women's tennis match to Philadelphia Biblical, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs tried mightily to avoid the double sweep, but the Crimson Eagles proved too much. Katelynn Wilson and Elizabeth Stafford from PBU earned an 8-2 triumph at the top spot against Felicia Thomas and Theresa Martini, while the Immaculata combo of Kelsey Piliero and Julie Einwechter were taken down 8-3 at the second slot by Brealyn Stillman and Amanda Treacy. Immaculata's third doubles duo of Olivia Kauffman and Elizabeth Strauch forced the longest match opposite Dana Hartman and Meghan Whittington before being tripped up, 8-6.

In singles play, Martini was defeated by Stafford, 6-3, 6-3, in the second position, and Hannah Maddox had 6-3, 6-2 win against Einwechter at the third spot. Kauffman went down to Tara Munro, 6-3, 6-1, at number six.

Immaculata slips to 3-8 overall and 1-7 in the CSAC. Philadelphia Biblical climbs its mark to 5-5 overall, 3-3 in the league.

The squad will return to the court on Tuesday when it faces Rosemont on the road. Match time is 4 p.m.
