IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University saw its women's tennis season draw to a close on Wednesday afternoon as it suffered an 8-1 defeat to Lancaster Bible at home.
Theresa Martini captured the Mighty Macs' point of the match at second singles as she pulled out a comeback against Carolyn Kensinger. Kensinger won the first set 6-3, when Martini pulled out the 6-2 second set victory, and went on to win 10-5 in the tie-breaker.
Immaculata seniors Kelsey Piliero and Elizabeth Strauch each fell in their final collegiate matches. Piliero was defeated at four singles, 6-3, 6-3, by Rachel Schmuck, while Strauch lost to Kayla Scott, 6-4, 6-0, in the sixth position.
Immaculata finishes the 2010 campaign 3-12 overall, and Lancaster Bible improved to 6-5 with the win.
