Men's Basketball Handles Marywood, 98-57

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata University men's basketball squad rolled to a 98-57 victory over visiting Marywood University Thursday night at Alumnae Hall in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.

Immaculata (7-6, 5-1 CSAC) placed three scorers in double figures led by John Boyd's 26 points while Robert Siter poured in 25. Kendall Peters came off the bench and contributed 14 points as Immaculata's third scorer in double digits. Siter, Jeff DeSantis and Todd Stokley each had six rebounds apiece to lead the Mighty Macs on the boards.

Marywood (4-8, 1-5 CSAC) got 10 points from Sidney Tharpe as he led all Pacer scorers. James Lavan finished with nine points. Lenny Martin was the Pacers' leading rebounder with seven grabs and he also led the team with three assists and two blocks.

Immaculata shot 57.4 percent (39-68) from the field for the game while the Mighty Macs were an impressive 19-for-31 (.613) from the field during the first half. On the flip side, Marywood was 23 of 67 (.343) from the field, and after going 6-for-14 (.429) from three-point range in the opening stanza, were 0 of 7 in the second half.

Immaculata led 49-33 at the break, but Marywood had trailed by just one, 26-25, with 6:58 remaining in the first half. The Mighty Macs outscored the Pacers 20-6 during the final 5:51 of the period to hold the 16-point halftime margin.

The Mighty Macs' lead continued to balloon in the second half, leading by as many as 47, 96-49, with 3:41 left. Immaculata saw its lead grow to that margin using a 20-2 run over a five minute span.

Immaculata returns to action on Monday, Jan. 18 hosting Keystone (7-4, 4-2 CSAC) at 8 p.m. at Alumnae Hall.
