IMMACULATA, Pa. - Immaculata's women's tennis squad was able to overcome an early deficit with the strength of its singles play to defeat Philadelphia Biblical, 5-4, Tuesday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match.
Immaculata began the match taking just the third doubles point as
Renae Padamonsky and
Lauren Drinkard combined for an 8-2 victory against Tata Munro and Meghan Whittington.
The Mighty Macs then turned their attention to singles play, where Immaculata claimed four wins overall in the third through sixth positions, claiming its win victory this season.
Amanda Dahlquist downed Hannah Maddox, 6-1, 7-6 (7-0) at No. 3 and
Felicia Thomas picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win against Brealyn Stillman atthe fourth spot.
Kaitlyn O'Donnell earned her first singles win of the season as she took the fifth position, 6-4, 6-0 against Tara Munro. Padamonsky won the other point for the Mighty Macs at No. 6, as she made quick work of Rachel Nelson, 6-0, 6-0.
Philadelphia Biblical (3-6, 1-5 CSAC) was able to secure wins in two of the three doubles matches, taking the early 2-1 lead in the match. The Crimson Eagles claimed the top two spots as Katelynn Wilson and Stillman defeated
Erika LaMarch and Thomas, 8-6, while Maddox and Jocelyn Palmer picked up an 8-4 win against Dahlquist and O'Donnell.
In the other singles matches, Wilson defeated LaMarch, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1, and Elizabeth Stafford won 6-0, 6-0 against
Kelsey Piliero.
Immaculata travels to the College of Notre Dame tomorrow for a 3 p.m. match against the Gators.
