Women's Tennis Drops 5-4 Match To PSU Harrisburg

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- Immaculata's women's tennis team was unable to pull out the non-conference win Saturday afternoon against Penn State Harrisburg and the Mighty Macs dropped the match, 5-4.

Penn State Harrisburg held a slight 2-1 advantage after doubles action, as the Lady Lions claimed matches at the first and second position.

Immaculata came back and tied the match at 3-all when the Mighty Macs won points at No. 4 and 6 singles. Renae Padamonsky won her first match of the season at the fourth position, 6-3, 6-1, against Meghin Moore.

The top three singles matches all went to a decisive third set. The No. 1 singles was match between Erika LaMarch and Lauren Hall was the first to finish as Hall won, 6-4, 0-6, 6-4, giving PSU Harrisburg its fourth point of the match.

Immaculata's Amanda Dahlquist was the next off the court, as she came back to win the final two sets against Caitlin Royer, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, knotting the match at 4-4.

All eyes went to the battle going on at No. 2 singles between IU's Kelsey Piliero and PSU Harrisburg's Jessica Karl. Karl won the opening set 7-5, but it was Piliero who claimed the second set, 7-6, after winning the tie-breaker, 7-5. However, Karl eventually took the third set, 6-0, to win her match at second singles, and give the Lady Lions their fifth point to win the match.

Immaculata returns to CSAC play on Monday as it travels to Baptist Bible for a 4 p.m. match.
