CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Immaculata women's tennis dropped its opening match of the 2009 season at DeSales Tuesday afternoon, 9-0.
Felicia Thomas nearly earned the Mighty Macs a point at third singles, forcing her match into a decisive tie-breaker. Krista Damirgian won the opening set 6-2, before Thomas rebounded to take the second set 7-5, forcing the tie-breaker, which she eventually lost 7-5.
Lauren Drinkard, making her Immaculata debut, fell to Amelia Lloyd at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-4, while Renae Padamonsky loss a 6-1, 6-2 match at No. 4 singles to Ariane Cain.
Immaculata is back in action on Thursday at 4 p.m. taking on Arcadia.
