IMMACULATA, Pa. - Immaculata swept its third Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader this season on Friday afternoon as the Mighty Macs took both ends from the College of Notre Dame. Immaculata won game one, 11-0, and followed that with a 13-2 victory in the nightcap.
Immaculata improves to 9-15 overall and 8-6 in the CSAC. College of Notre Dame slips to 0-12 overall, 0-10 in the league.
Melissa Fetter (6-6) pitched a three-hit shutout in the opener for the Mighty Macs, which sandwiched four runs in the first and third around a three-run inning in the second.
Fetter and
Jackie Finkbohner were also 3-for-4 from the plate in game one, with two RBI from Fetter.
Carol Mastrosante went 1-for-3 with two RBI, and
Julia Lamplugh picked up two hits and drove in three runs.
In game two, Immaculata put six runs on the board in the first and added seven more in the third to the 13-2 win while the Gators plated runs in the second and third innings.
Finkbohner and Lamplugh each were 3-for-3 in game two with one and two RBI, respectively.
Sara Holleran was 1-for-4 with two RBI, and Valerie Rutt-Guerriere was 2-for-3 with a team-high three RBI.
Rutt-Guerriere also started and pitched all five innings, allowing just five hits and one earned run which striking out six.
Immaculata travels to Keystone on Saturday, April 18. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
