After Baptist Bible (7-5, 3-1 CSAC) pushed one run home in the first inning, Immaculata responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning as Mastrosante hit a two-run shot over the left field fence that plated Maureen Kelly, who had come on to run for Julia Lamplugh after her single.

The Mighty Macs (2-10, 2-4 CSAC) added four more in the second inning on four hits. Melissa Fetter started off the inning with a single and Valerie Rutt-Guerriere followed her up with a double. Sara Holleran then drove in Fetter. Tori Musselman continued the Mighty Macs damage with a RBI double that brought Rutt-Guerriere around home plate. Jackie Finkbohner singled to left center, driving in Musselman, and Finkbohner later scored on a wild pitch.

However, the Baptist Bible bats began to wake up in the fifth, as the Lady Defenders scored two runs on two hits. Baptist Bible then added four more runs on five hits in the sixth to take the lead, 7-4.

Immaculata cut it to 7-5 with a run in the bottom half of the sixth, but Baptist Bible wasn't through adding to its lead. The Lady Defenders pushed three more runs across the plate in the seventh.

The Mighty Macs had a late rally with three runs of their own in the seventh but came up just short.
