Men's Basketball Stumbles At Rowan, 64-49

GLASSBORO, N.J. – Immaculata was unable to overcome its halftime deficit as the visiting Mighty Macs fell to the host Rowan Profs Tuesday night in a non-league men's basketball game, 64-49.

Sophomore Robert Siter led the Mighty Macs' in both scoring and rebounding with 13 points and eight rebounds. Senior Jeff DeSantis was the other Immaculata player in double figures with 11 points and six boards. Freshman Kendall Peters added nine points and sophomore John Boyd tallied seven points.

Immaculata (1-3) opened the game with three points from DeSantis, but Rowan came back with a 14-0 run over a 6:22 span to give the hosts a 14-3 advantage at the 10:47 mark in the first half.

The Mighty Macs cut the margin to eight points twice, the last coming with 4:52 remaining in the opening stanza, but Immaculata could not chip into the lead any further. The Profs' eventually took a 32-18 lead into halftime.

The closest Immaculata would come the rest of the way was within nine, 47-38, with nine minutes left in the contest. After the Mighty Macs closed their deficit to single digits, Rowan went on an 11-3 run in just under four minutes, giving the Profs' their largest lead of the night, 58-41, with 5:08 remaining.  

Rowan (3-1) was led by a double-double from Tyson Hartnett on 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sean Hughes added nine points while Gary Foster led the Profs on the glass with 11 rebounds. 

Immaculata travels to Marywood on Monday, Nov. 30 to begin the Colonial States Athletic Conference slate against the Pacers. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
