Kelly Brown scored 21 points and
Dominique Murray added 18, but visiting Centenary proved to be too much down the stretch en route to a come-from-behind 72-68 victory over Immaculata in a CSAC women's basketball game Thursday evening.
Colleen Collins hit a 3-pointer for Centenary (9-2, 5-0 CSAC) with 3:31 left in the contest to break a 57-57 tie and spark the Lady Cyclones on an 8-4 run over the next two minutes that was the deciding factor in the outcome of the game.
Immaculata (6-5, 2-2) came within two points in the final 17 seconds, but could get no closer as Centenary hit all four of its foul shots down the stretch to ice the game.
Brianna Duffin (8 points) nailed a 3-pointer at the 13:37 mark of the first half, giving the hosts a lead, which eventually grew to 12 before the break that it would not relinquish until 6:48 remained in the contest. Duffin's 3-ball was part of a 15-3 run in the opening frame that staked the Mighty Macs to a 22-12 advantage with 7:49 left.
Murray added 10 rebounds and five assists to her 18 points for the Mighty Macs.
Bridget Welz also grabbed 10 rebounds.
Kasey Hicks scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds with five assists and three steals to her credit.
Centenary was led by Kristen Camuso's 26 points and Jen Vasta's 22. Marissa DiStasio grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Vasta registered six steals.
Immaculata returns to the court on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. against Penn State-Berks.
