IMMACULATA, Pa. – Kyle Finklea poured in 26 points to lead five Immaculata players in double figures as the Mighty Macs defeated the Cyclones from Centenary, 81-71, on Thursday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference action at Alumnae Hall.
Immaculata (5-6, 3-2 CSAC) forced 25 Centenary turnovers that led to 32 points, and nailed 10 three pointers for the contest. The Cyclones shot 45 percent from the field and outrebounded the Mighty Macs, 42-35, but it was not enough to pull off the win.
Immaculata held Centenary (5-7, 0-4) scoreless for a 4:38 span midway through the second half, going on a 13-0 run that put the Mighty Macs up by 11, 65-57. Finklea had nine points in the spurt.
The Mighty Macs led 39-36 at the half after Immaculata closed the opening period on a 25-9 run during the final 6:12.
Finklea added three assists and four steals to his 26 points. Jeff DeSantis tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Julius Lopez tallied 17 points, including five three's, and seven rebounds. Sean Fordham and John Boyd each added 10 points and four assists.
Centenary's Andrew Baker registered a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Ryan Kearney chipped in 18 points and Rob Urie had 13.
Immaculata hosts Chestnut Hill on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Alumnae Hall.
