LA PLUME, Pa. – Keystone opened the second half outscoring Immaculata 18-7 over the first 10 minutes as the Giants held on for a 75-66 victory over the visiting Mighty Macs in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Tuesday night.
Immaculata (4-6, 2-2 CSAC) saw its one-point halftime advantage diminish quickly over the opening portion of the second half. Keystone (7-3, 2-1) won its second straight and four of its last five.
Spencer Lunger scored a game-high 33 points off the bench, including a 12-for-13 effort from the foul line to pace the Giants. Ryne Luce added 10 points.
Kyle Finklea netted 20 points for Immaculata and Julius Lopez posted 13. Sean Fordham added 11.
Terence Tercel converted a conventional 3-point play five minutes into the second half that gave Keystone the lead for good at 42-41. The Mighty Macs were held scoreless over a 5:45 span that saw the Giants' lead expand to seven.
A jumper from Fordham cut the hosts' lead to five. However, Lunger buried consecutive 3-pointers as Keystone pushed its lead to 11 (54-43) with 9:23 left in the game.
Immaculata only hit five more shots from the field the rest of the way, one of those a 3-pointer, relying mostly on points from the free throw line to mount its comeback. The Mighty Macs nailed all 14 attempts from the charity stripe in the game's final five minutes. Immaculata finished 19-for-21 from the line on the night.
Immaculata returns home on Thursday night hosting Centenary at 8 p.m.
