PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Chestnut Hill earned an 8-1 victory over the Immacualata women's tennis team on Monday afternoon. The Mighty Macs' only point of the afternoon came in the top singles position, as Margaret Kelley dispatched the Griffins' Erin Andersen.

Chestnut Hill (2-4) held a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Erin Andersen and Cara Wallin scored an 8-3 win over IU seniors Margaret Kelley and Amanda Wilson at number one doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Sarah Doherty and Lauren Pescatore secured an 8-1 victory over Erika L. LaMarch and Felicia Thomas.

Immaculata (0-2) earned its lone point with a 7-5, 6-1 win in the top singles flight, as Kelley defeated Andersen. At No. 2 singles, Wallin topped Wilson 6-2, 6-0. Doherty took No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2 over LaMarch and Rachel Steinberg won No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-1 over Thomas. Karen Guwuriro defeated Katherine Boyle in the fifth singles position by a score of 6-1, 6-0.

The women's tennis team hosts DeSales in its next match, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11, at 4 p.m.
