Immaculata Women's Tennis Drops Opener To Eastern, 9-0

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Former league rival Eastern University defeated host Immaculata University, 9-0, in the women's tennis season opener for the Mighty Macs.

Immaculata's Amanda Wilson put up the toughest battle at No. 2 singles, dropping 6-4, 6-1 sets to Hannah Tobin. Margaret Kelley, Kristen East and Kelsey Piliero all dropped 6-3, 6-1 sets at No. 1, 5 and 6 singles, respectively, while Erika L. LaMarch went 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 singles to Lindsey Leh.

The Mighty Macs' third doubles team of Katherine Boyle and Kelsey Piliero put up the most fight, losing 8-2 to Allison Verdic and Alicia Skeeter.

Immaculata returns to action when they travel to Chestnut Hill on Monday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m.
