ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann women's tennis team defeated Immaculata, 8-1, in Colonial States Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.
Immaculata's (1-9, 1-4 CSAC) lone point of the match came at No. 1 singles as Margaret Kelley won her fifth consecutive match by defeating Allison Trout, 6-3, 6-1.
Neumann (5-7, 4-2 CSAC) started the afternoon sweeping doubles action. Kayla Chamberlain and Trout won at No. 1 doubles, 9-8 (7-4) over Kelley and Amanda Wilson. Alice DeTolla and Rachel Coladonato notched a win at No. 2 doubles against Erika LaMarch and Felicia Thomas, 8-2, and at No. 3 doubles, Lindsey Ravior and Michelle Steward won 8-0 over Kristen East and Katherine Boyle.
The Knights also took No. 2-6 singles. DeTolla won at No. 2, 8-0, against Wilson. Ravior was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1 over LaMarch. At No. 4 singles, Steward defeated Thomas, 6-2, 6-0. Coladonato won No. 5 singles over East, 8-3, and Chamberlain rounded out the Knights points at No. 6 singles, 8-0, against Boyle.
Immaculata will host Penn State Berks on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
