Immaculata Drops Season Finale, 59-58

IMMACULATA, Pa. – A jumper by Eastern's Hannah Tobin with 13 seconds remaining gave the Eagles a 59-58 victory against the host Immaculata Mighty Macs on Senior Day at Alumnae Hall.

Immaculata finishes the season with a 6-19 overall mark and 4-12 record in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. Eastern concludes its 2007-08 campaign 5-20 overall and 4-12 in the conference.

Senior Nina Cammarano tallied a team-high 16 points, while junior Kasey Hicks added 11 points and seven rebounds. Junior Courtney Dixon finished with 10 points and a team-best four assists, while freshman Deanna Tropea had game-high honors with 11 rebounds.

The game was tied, 52-all, for the ninth time at the 5:20 mark of the second stanza, when the Mighty Macs went on a 6-2 run to lead by four, 58-54, with 1:24 to play. Mandy Kuiken sunk a three-pointer with 31 seconds remaining to bring the visitors within one.

Cammarano went to the line with 26 ticks left, but missed the free throw and Shaneen Brown grabbed the rebound for the Eagles. Tobin hit the jumper with 13 seconds left on the clock, and the Might Macs were unable to convert they attempt at a layup as time expired.

Kuiken had a game-high 21 points and seven rebounds. Tobin added 14 points and led Eastern with nine rebounds. Patrice Freeman and Joelle DeCarlo finished in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
