LANGHORNE, Pa. – Immaculata women's tennis picked up an 8-1 victory over Philadelphia Biblical on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Mighty Macs season finale.
Immaculata took two of three doubles matches, claiming the top two positions, and then swept all six singles spots for the convincing win.
Margaret Kelley, Amanda Wilson, Erika LaMarch and Felicia Thomas were all double winner for the afternoon, claiming both their singles and doubles matches. Kristen East and Katherine Boyle both earned wins in singles.
In doubles action, the pair of Kelley and Wilson defeated Laura Wronski and Jocelyn Palmer, 8-0, in No. 1 while LaMarch and Thomas were 8-0 winners against Bethany McCormick and Jen Friedman at No. 2.
Philadelphia Biblical won the third doubles match as Danielle Hirsch and Jenni Rosol downed Kaitlyn O'Donnell and Boyle, 9-8 (7-5).
Kelley then defeated Katelynn Wilson at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, and Wilson downed Wronski in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles. LaMarch captured the win at third singles against Palmer in a third-set tie-breaker, 6-0, 5-7, 10-6.
Felicia Thomas defeated Friedman in the No. 4 spot by scores of 6-1, 6-0. East didn't give up a game at No. 5 singles as she defeated Hirsch, 6-0, 6-0, and Boyle won her match at six singles, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8, against Rosol.
Immaculata finishes the 2008 season with a record of 3-13 overall and 3-7 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
