Mighty Macs Fall At Widener To Close Non-Conference Play

Immaculata University men's basketball team fell to Widener University 90-76, in non-conference action on Monday, January 14, in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Sophomore Scott Marston set a career high with 22 points and tied his career best with 11 rebounds, while junior Kyle Finklea recorded 23 points. Marston also added a career-high five blocks. Senior Dan Lepone registered 12 points off the bench, while junior Sean Fordham collected 10 points in the loss for the Mighty Macs (9-4).

Immaculata held a 30-25 lead with 4:09 left in the first half, but the Pride used a 15-7 run to close the half.  Widener held a 40-37 lead at halftime.  The Pride continued their run into the second half and scored the first seven points of the half to hold a 47-37 lead with 19:01 remaining.

Immaculata pulled within seven (63-56) at the 12:10 mark, but Widener used a 12-2 run to grab a 75-58 lead with 5:51 left in the second stanza.

Charles Jones posted 20 points, while Jamarr Johnson netted 17 points to pace Widener (13-1).

Immaculata returns to action on Thursday, January 17, when they travel to face Neumann College. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
