Immaculata Falls To Gwynedd-Mercy College

Immaculata University softball team fell to Gwynedd-Mercy College 7-3, 9-1, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Tuesday, April 3, in Gwynedd Valley, PA.

In game one, sophomore Missy Fetter went 3-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored, while fellow sophomore Val Rutl-Guerriere amassed one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Freshman Gabby Roth added a double for the Mighty Macs (1-10-1, 1-7 PAC).

The Violets held a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, but the Griffins scored five in that inning to put the game away and earn the
7-3 victory.

Freshman Tabitha Kerr pitched six innings for Immaculata and allowed six runs on 10 hits. She struck out three.

Jayme DiLeonardo went 2-3 with two RBI, while Kate Cassidy added two hits and two RBI to pace Gwynedd-Mercy.

In game two, Roth collected two of the Mighty Macs' four hits. Fetter was tagged with the loss, as she allowed seven runs (four earned) in four innings of play.

Ashley Bowie went 4-4 with three RBI for the Griffins (5-9, 5-5 PAC).
