Alvernia Sweeps Immaculata on Senior Day

Immaculata celebrated its Senior Day on Saturday, honoring the careers of Eileen Hannan and Danielle Durso, but the Mighty Macs dropped a pair of PAC contests to Alvernia College, 15-1 and 19-6.

In the first game, Alvernia homered three times on its way to the win. The Crusaders scored six times in the top of the first and never looked back. Jackie Rhoads, Beth Jablonowski and Lauren Crimi all homered for Alvernia.

Immaculata was led by Gabby Roth, who went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

In game two, the Crusaders blew open a tight contest with a eight-run fifth inning. Shannon Fox and Crimi homered for Alvernia in the game.

Freshman Jackie Finkbohner went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI for the Mighty Macs, and sophomore Val Rutt-Guerriere added a pair of hits, a run scored and an RBI.

Immaculata will wrap up its season on Sunday at College Misericordia, completing a doubleheader started on Wednesday afternoon.
