Immaculata University softball team fell to Neumann College 10-0 and 12-7 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Friday, April 20 in Aston, PA. The Mighty Macs fall to 3-14-1 overall and 3-11 in the PAC.
In game one, sophomore Val Rutt-Guerriere recorded the only hit for Immaculata as Angela Sebasto tossed a complete game one-hitter for the Knights. Freshman Tabitha Kerr suffered the loss for the Mighty Macs after she allowed 10 runs in three innings.
In game two, sophomore Missy Hopely went 3-4 with two runs scored and one RBI, while junior Melissa Cifaloglio amassed two hits and three RBI. Guerriere smacked a two-run home run in the sixth inning, while freshman Jackie Finkbohner added two hits and one RBI.
Cifaloglio's two-run single in the first inning gave Immaculata a 4-0 lead, but Neuman scored three in the bottom half of the first inning and two in the second inning to take a 5-4 lead. They pushed the lead to 10-4, before the Mighty Macs scored three in the sixth to pull within 10-7.
