Immaculata Sweeps Rosemont

Sophomore Missy Fetter threw a complete game one-hitter to lead Immaculata University to an 8-0 win over Rosemont College in game one of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader on Friday, April 13, in Rosemont, PA. The Mighty Macs (3-12-1, 3-9 PAC) completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory in game two.

In game one, freshmen Gabby Roth, Jackie Finkbohner and Allyson Green, and Fetter each recorded two hits, while Fetter collected four RBI and Finkbohner totaled three RBI. Green also added an RBI, while Fetter smashed two doubles.

Fetter took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, before Alicia Clayton registered a double to lead-off the bottom of the inning. Fetter struck out a career-high 10 batters en route to her first victory of the season.

In game two, sophomore Melissa Cifaloglio, Finkbohner and Fetter collected multi-hit games, while Finkbohner amassed two doubles.

Trailing 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning, Immaculata scored four runs to grab a 6-3 lead. Fetter led off the seventh with a single and advanced to second on a single by sophomore Missy Hopely. Fetter scored off a single by sophomore Val Rutl-Guerriere, before Finkbohner smacked a two-run double to give the Mighty Macs a 6-3 lead. They held on for the 6-4 win.

Freshman Tabitha Kerr allowed four runs in the complete game victory. It was her second win of the season.

Anne Blessington went 3-4 with two runs scored for the Ramblers.
