Mighty Macs Upended By Arcadia

Immaculata University softball team fell to Arcadia University 9-2 in the first game and 21-3 in the nightcap, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Tuesday, April 10, in Immaculata, PA.

In game one, sophomore Missy Hopely went 2-3 with one RBI, while fellow sophomore Jackie Mullineaux went 2-3 with one RBI, including a double. Sophomore Missy Fetter also collected a double for the Mighty Macs.

Freshman Tabitha Kerr (1-5) allowed nine runs (six earned) to suffer the loss.

Amanda Celentano went 4-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Jennifer Jackson went 3-4, including a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to pace the Knights. Laura Fencik also homered for Arcadia.

In game two, freshman Gabby Roth went 1-2, including a triple, and one run scored, while junior Melissa Cifaloglio recorded a two-run single in the first inning. Fetter also added a hit and a RBI for Immaculata.

The Mighty Macs (1-12-1, 1-9 PAC) held a 3-1 lead, before the Knights (17-5, 7-1 PAC) scored 10 runs in the top of the third inning to break open a tight game.
