Sophomore Dan Lepone recorded a team-high 17 points as Immaculata University shut down College Misericordia 76-62, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, February 3, in Dallas, PA.
Five players scored in double-figures for the Mighty Macs as they improved to 8-12 overall and 8-5 in the PAC. In addition to Lepone (17), junior Robert Jones and freshman Scott Marston collected 16 points each, while sophomores Sean Fordham and Julius Lopez registered 12 and 11 points, respectively. Marston and Jones also pulled down eight rebounds apiece.
Trailing 23-20 with 5:39 left in the opening stanza, Immaculata used a 13-7 run to close the half with a 33-30 lead. The Mighty Macs opened the second half with a 10-4 run to take a 43-34 lead, but the Cougars (8-13, 6-8 PAC) responded with an 11-2 run to knot the game at 45-45 with 12:18 remaining.
After Misericordia scored to pull within 67-62, Immaculata used a 9-0 run to close the game and earn the 76-62 victory.
