Immaculata Storms Past Eastern, 58-42

On a night when the seniors were honored, the Immaculata University women's basketball team defeated Eastern University 58-42 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, February 12, in Alumnae Hall.

Immaculata improved to 15-9 overall and 10-5 in the PAC.

"Senior night is always an emotional night, but I thought our team came out focused and played a strong 1st half," said head coach Patty Canterino.

The Mighty Macs held Eastern to 13 points in the first half and posted a 33-13 lead at the half.  They extended their lead to a game high 21 points, 55-34, at the 5:38 mark of the second half and cruised to a 58-42 victory.

Senior Meg Legere recorded 11 points and eight rebounds, while fellow senior Mary Kate Pawlowski collected eight points and tied her career high with 12 rebounds.  Sophomore Dominique Murray tied her career high with 31 points and also added 15 rebounds.  Murray totaled three steals and two blocks, while sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed eight assists.

"Dom Murray was force in the middle and did a great job from the foul line," stated Canterino.
Murray went 15-16 from the charity stripe.

Jacey Bray paced the Eagles (3-20, 2-13 PAC) with 16 points.
