Mighty Macs Fall To Cabrini College

Immaculata University dropped a 40-34 decision to Cabrini College, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, February 10, in Alumnae Hall.

The Mighty Macs fell to 14-9 overall and 9-5 in the PAC.

Senior Meg Legere collected a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore Dominique Murray recorded eight points and 10 rebounds. Murray also totaled four assists, while senior Mary Kate Pawlowski pulled down 10 rebounds.

After a back and forth first half, the Mighty Macs trailed 17-16 at the half. The Cavaliers (16-7, 12-3 PAC) used a 15-2 run to post a 32-19 lead with 9:34 left in the second half. Immaculata scored the next eight points to pull within five, 32-27, with 5:32 remaining, but Cabrini returned the favor and pushed its lead back to 10, 37-27, with 2:36 left. The Mighty Macs were able to pull within five points once again, 37-32, with 0:36 remaining, but the Cavaliers held on for the 40-34 victory.

Kate Ryan paced Cabrini with 11 points, while Kayleen Smith added nine points and 10 rebounds.
