Cabrini Slips Past Immaculata 54-50

Immaculata University fell to Cabrini College 54-50, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, February 10, in Alumnae Hall.

Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Robert Jones amassed eight points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Freshman Scott Marston registered seven points, while sophomore Julius Lopez totaled eight points. Hyman also added four steals.

The Mighty Macs (9-14, 9-7 PAC) jumped out to an 18-6 lead at the 11:55 mark, but the Cavaliers used a 19-7 run to knot the game at 25-25 with 1:15 left. Immaculata took a 28-25 lead into intermission.

The Mighty Macs scored six straight points to open the second half (34-25), but Cabrini used a 22-6 run to take a 47-40 lead with 8:01 left in the second half. Immaculata's 9-2 run knotted the game at 49-49 with 3:35 left. With Cabrini leading 51-49, sophomore Dan Lepone made one of two foul shots to pull within 51-50. However, the Cavaliers (3-20, 3-13 PAC) made three straight free throws to seal their 54-50 victory.

Randy Reid paced Cabrini with 15 points 16 rebounds, while Bruce McLelland collected nine points and 17 rebounds. Matt Walsh added 15 points, all in the first half, for the Cavaliers.
