Immaculata University held off Arcadia University to earn a 59-54 victory in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, February 1, in Glenside, PA.
Senior Meg Legere recorded a game-high 26 points, while sophomore Dominique Murray added 13. Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski collected seven points, while Legere added nine rebounds.
Trailing 10-4 at 15:08 of the first half, the Mighty Macs used a 13-3 run to grab a 17-13 lead with 9:02 remaining in the opening stanza. The Knights were able to knot the game at 19-19, before Immaculata took a 23-20 lead into intermission.
The Mighty Macs stormed out of the gates in the second half and used a 17-8 run to post a 40-28 lead, the largest of the game, at 13:27 of the second half. Arcadia battled its way back and cut Immaculata's lead to 55-54 with 3:49 left. But a field goal by Legere and two free throws by sophomore Kasey Hicks sealed the victory for the Mighty Macs (11-8, 7-4 PAC).
Katie Lynch paced the Knights (6-15, 4-8 PAC) with 17 points.
